Master Walter Alberto Zuazo Reyes began his martial arts journey at an early age, practicing various Kung Fu styles from southern and northern China. In 1997, he specialized in Shaolin Kung Fu at the Shaolin Temple in the United States under Abbot Shi Guolin’s leadership. In 2010, he was ordained as a monk and received his Dharma name, Shi Heng Yi.
For 13 years, he expanded Shaolin culture across nine South American countries, establishing training centers and promoting values of discipline and harmony. In March 2023, he was summoned by Abbot Shi Yongxin of China to be ordained as a senior monk. As Abbot of the Shaolin Temple South America Association, Shi Heng Yi leads the preservation and dissemination of Shaolin Kung Fu, integrating traditional practices with contemporary needs.
